Volunteer: Capitol Hill Apartment Organizing

As part of TogetherTuesday, our Older Adult Services client is looking for some help organizing his studio apartment on Capitol Hill. He plans to sort through his closet and would like help in organizing what he wants to keep. The volunteer would assist with that along with taking garbage down to the dumpster on the first floor. If the volunteer can take donations to a Goodwill, that would be a bonus!

Volunteer: Summer Farm Gleaning

One of the ways that the JFS Polack Food Bank receives fresh produce is by engaging in farm gleaning at the Oxbow Farm & Conservation Center in Carnation, WA! Volunteers support this effort by harvesting fresh fruits and vegetables straight from the farm to send to our food bank.

Gleaning sessions will be hosted one Tuesday per month from June - August. Families and kiddos are welcome! Please consider your child's ability to be outside with minimal shade for the entire two hours in varying weather conditions before signing up.

Volunteers will be required to arrange their own transportation to Oxbow in Carnation, WA. Bending and moderate lifting will be required. Please reach out to volunteer@jfsseattle.org with any questions.
