Thank you for your interest in creating and delivering Chanukah Gift Bags with support from the Tina B. Novick Jewish Holiday Basket Endowment Fund!
This event involves creating and delivering gift bags to members of our community. This is a wonderful volunteer opportunity for families and individuals. We welcome anyone to volunteer with us regardless of religious background, sexual orientation, gender identity, or socio-economic status. We welcome interfaith couples and families too!
This event will take place on Sunday, December 7, from 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. at JFS Capitol Hill (not including time spent making deliveries). Please be sure to calculate your delivery time in addition to the event time for this opportunity.
Your volunteer shift will involve gathering at JFS to create the gift bags that you will be delivering, and then setting out to deliver them along the route you've signed up for. We will also have an opportunity for a brief reflection on Jewish values as they relate to volunteerism and the upcoming holiday! Please plan on arriving no later than 10:00 a.m. so that we can get started promptly.
Below, you'll find details for each of our available delivery routes (most routes include between 3-6 drop offs). JFS staff will be in touch with more details including instructions and delivery addresses as we get closer to the event.
