Summer Farm Gleaning

Description

Help us provide fresh produce for our community!

One of the ways that the JFS Polack Food Bank receives fresh produce is by engaging in farm gleaning at the Oxbow Farm & Conservation Center in Carnation, WA! Volunteers support this effort by harvesting fresh fruits and vegetables straight from the farm to send to our food bank.

Join us for a Farm Gleaning date:

Gleaning sessions will be hosted one Tuesday per month from June - August. Families and kiddos are welcome! Please consider your child's ability to be outside with minimal shade for the entire two hours in varying weather conditions before signing up.

Sign up to join us for a day of volunteering in the sun by selecting a volunteer slot below! All are welcome to attend — no previous knowledge of Judaism is needed to participate.

Volunteers will be required to arrange their own transportation to Oxbow in Carnation, WA. Bending and moderate lifting will be required. Please reach out to volunteer@jfsseattle.org with any questions.
